Services - Anesthetic Trace Gas Testing
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) request assistance in controlling exposure of workers to nitrous oxide (N2O) during administration of anesthetic gas in medical, dental and veterinary operations. NIOSH concluded in 1977 that exposure to N2O causes decreases in mental performance, audiovisual ability, and dexterity. A recent study of workers indicated that adverse reproductive effects may also result from chronic exposure to N2O. NIOSH recommends monitoring for N2O when the anesthetic equipment is installed and every 3 months thereafter. ARTEC Environmenal can assist in the following types of monitoring:
- Leak testing of equipment
- Monitoring of air in the worker’s personal breathing zone
- Environmental (room air) monitoring
ARTEC Environmental can give you the most cost effective way to manage nitrous oxide, halogenated anesthesia agents and provide your employees the safest possible working environment. ARTEC is dedicated to keeping your organization in compliance with Federal, State, and JCAHO requirements and recommendations.
